So, significantly impaired for the 90+% of people who use PCs? That seems to be an odd way of marketing/developing. (If I were creating any sort of computer-related product, I suspect that my top priority would be to make sure it works for the vast vast vast majority of customers, rather than focus on Apple users.) But I guess it was developed as a niche product, and Apple users certainly have more money to spend, generally-speaking.

Original review (one star): Initially wouldn't boot straight out of the box. It just hangs when the progress bar gets about 3/4 of the way across the screen. Third, when ejecting media, the software would indicate that the device is still ejecting it (after a long wait), although there was nothing displayed under “Devices”. It would eventually time out, with the “Unable to eject drive” error on the bottom of the screen. I saw this issue more than once, so it seems to be a software / firmware related problem. Issues like these are far and few in between, but they shed light on bigger problems in the tech world. We as users are relying more and more on products with functionality we don’t entirely own. I bought the GB2 soon after launch. It has been a vital part of my workflow for stills and video ever since. The company have supported it very well with excellent firmware updates that substantially improved its functionalityOne of the most important features of Gnarbox, is the ability to edit video footage all the way to 4K. Having recently traveled to New Zealand, I was able to capture a bunch of footage of different places using the DJI Mavic Air drone, so I thought it would be a good idea to see what I could get out of the Gnarbox when doing editing of 4K footage. People often laugh at me and claim that I have to adapt to new technology when I say that I avoid products that don't maintain more or less full functionality using whatever buttons and displays are on the products itself, and without being dependent on some "app" that is supposed to work with a third party product like a phone. The Gnarbox is typically the kind of product that I avoid for this reason, and it has saved me many headaches.
